The two have known each other for 25 years, with their romantic journey beginning a year ago.
During an informal media interaction in Mumbai, Aamir shared that Gauri, whom he met over two decades ago, is now his life partner. The two have been together for about a year and a half and currently live together.
Gauri, a mother to a six-year-old boy, also works with Aamir’s production company. Despite knowing Aamir for 25 years, she’s only watched a few of his films, such as Lagaan and Dangal, and doesn’t quite grasp the “superstar” image attached to him, which Aamir fondly mentioned.
Aamir revealed that he introduced Gauri to his close friends Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan just the day before, during a dinner at his home. He also mentioned that his family, including his children, are supportive of his new relationship.
Sharing more about Gauri, Aamir added that she’s half Tamilian, half Irish, and that her grandfather was a freedom fighter. He also joked about whether marriage at 60 would suit him, noting that he sings to Gauri every day.
Aamir was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children, Ira and Junaid. His second marriage to filmmaker Kiran Rao ended in 2021, but they continue to co-parent their son, Azad.
On the work front, Aamir was last seen in Laal Singh Chaddha, which failed to make a mark at the box office. However, he is now set to make a comeback with Sitaare Zameen Par, a film that will reunite him with Taare Zameen Par actor Darsheel Safary.
