After Lahore, CM Maryam Nawaz Now Launched Electric Bus Service in Mianwali

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a new electric bus service in Mianwali, describing it as a major step towards modernizing public transport in regions that have been overlooked for years.

The project, managed by the Punjab Transport Company, will run “Electro Green Buses” on key routes connecting Daud Khel, Bin Hafiz Ji, and Wan Bhachran.

Officials explained that the service is designed to provide eco-friendly, safe, and affordable travel to the people of Mianwali and surrounding areas. The fare has been kept at just Rs. 20 to make it accessible for everyone.

Each bus is equipped with modern features, including air-conditioning, WiFi, automated ticketing systems, and special facilities to accommodate passengers with disabilities.

Speaking at the inauguration, CM Maryam Nawaz highlighted that reliable and affordable transport is a basic need that has long been ignored in many parts of Punjab.

She said the new service reflects her government’s commitment to improving quality of life while also focusing on environmental sustainability.

The electric buses are not only expected to reduce travel difficulties but also cut down on fuel costs and pollution, offering a cleaner and greener alternative to conventional transport.

This development is part of a larger plan to expand the electric bus network across Punjab. Just last month, the Chief Minister confirmed that a fleet of 100 additional electric buses is on its way from Yantai Port in China.

These will soon be introduced in districts including Okara, Nankana Sahib, Muzaffargarh, Vehari, Pakpattan, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
