Ai Replacing Doctors?Chinese Researchers Develop Robot That Performs Ultra-Precise Eye Injections

Chinese researchers have developed a new autonomous robotic system that can perform very precise eye injections, which could greatly improve the treatment of retinal diseases.

The technology was created by the Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and is designed to assist with delicate eye procedures that require extreme accuracy.

During animal testing, the robotic system achieved a 100 percent success rate. It successfully carried out complex procedures such as subretinal injections and injections into tiny blood vessels inside the eye. These tasks are usually very difficult for human surgeons because even a small hand movement can cause serious damage.

The robot uses advanced 3D spatial sensing to understand the exact structure of the eye. It carefully plans and controls the injection path and places the needle with very high precision.

According to researchers, this system can reduce surgical errors by up to 80 percent when compared to traditional manual eye injections.

One of the biggest advantages of this technology is improved patient safety. The robot can perform injections in a more stable and consistent way, reducing the risk of mistakes caused by hand movement or fatigue.

It also has the potential to shorten the training time required for surgeons, as the system can handle many of the most difficult steps.

In the future, this robotic technology could make advanced eye treatments more accessible. It may allow complex eye surgeries to be performed in remote or underserved areas where experienced specialists are not available.
