Changan Increases Car Prices by Up to Rs. 200,000

Changan Increases Car Prices by Up to Rs. 200,000

In a move reflecting broader industry-wide price adjustments, Changan Pakistan has announced a hike in prices across its entire vehicle lineup, with the revised rates coming into effect from July 1, 2025. The increase follows the newly introduced fiscal measures under the federal Budget 2025–26, impacting the entire local automotive sector.

The company shared the updated pricing structure for its popular models, including the Oshan X7, Alsvin, Karvaan, and Sherpa. The price increases range from Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 200,000, depending on the model and variant.

According to Changan, this revision was necessary to offset the financial impact of the newly implemented NEV (New Energy Vehicle) adoption levy, which ranges from 1% to 3%, depending on the engine displacement of the vehicle. The levy is part of the government’s policy push to encourage cleaner mobility solutions while simultaneously generating additional revenue.

While some automakers have attempted to absorb these costs partially, Changan, like many others, has opted to pass on a significant portion of the burden to customers.

Updated Price List of Changan Vehicles (Effective from July 1, 2025)

Model Variant Previous Price (PKR) New Price (PKR) Increase (PKR)
Oshan X7 Comfort (7 Seats) 8,299,000 8,474,000 175,000
FS (5 Seats) 8,949,000 9,149,000 200,000
FS (7 Seats) 9,099,000 9,299,000 200,000
Alsvin MT Comfort 4,099,000 4,189,000 90,000
Lumiere 4,799,000 4,899,000 100,000
Lumiere Black Edition 4,899,000 4,999,000 100,000
Karvaan Power Plus 1.2 3,199,000 3,249,000 50,000
Sherpa Power 1.2 2,304,000 2,349,000 45,000

This latest round of price increases is part of a wider trend seen across the automotive sector in Pakistan. The 2025–26 budget has introduced several new policies and levies that have affected not only Changan but other local assemblers as well.

Industry experts believe that while these policy changes are designed to encourage a transition toward cleaner energy and electric vehicles, the short-term impact on customers is likely to be significant, especially given ongoing inflation and economic challenges.

Consumers are now left to reconsider their purchasing decisions as affordability continues to be a major concern for middle-income buyers.

Changan has not announced any immediate promotional offers or relief packages in response to the new pricing. However, industry insiders suggest that some form of customer incentives might be introduced later this year to maintain demand amid rising costs.
