In a raid conducted late Wednesday night near Village 58/GD, on the Faisalabad-Sahiwal Road in Noor Shah, the CTD arrested a suspect identified as Muhammad Adeel of Layyah.

The department said Adeel was allegedly planning a terrorist attack. A live improvised explosive device (IED), dry battery, prima cards, detonators, cables, a cell phone, electrical circuits, an iron box filled with nails, a camera, a 30-bore pistol, bullets and cash were recovered from him.

A case was registered at Sahiwal CTD police station under Section 45 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908, and Sections 7, 13(2a), and 20/65 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, based on a complaint lodged by Muhammad Anees.

The CTD also arrested alleged TTP suspect Muhammad Husnain at Super City Housing Society in a separate raid conducted on the same day. Both suspects were shifted to the CTD regional office.
