Didn’t Pay Your Taxes? Your Car Might Get Blocked Soon — Check Details

Car owners who haven’t cleared their vehicle taxes might be in for a big surprise soon. The Excise Department is tightening its rules to catch those who are not paying their dues. Officials have now planned special weekly drives to find and block cars with unpaid taxes, fake number plates, or non-custom paid status.

This new move aims to encourage people to pay on time and stop illegal vehicles from running on the roads. Shahid Gilani, the Director Motors, has approved special checkposts at seven busy spots across the city. His team, along with Excise and Taxation Officers (ETOs), will be stopping cars and checking their documents carefully.

Vehicles with two or more years of unpaid token tax will be the main focus. Such cars could be seized on the spot. Cars with fake number plates or that haven’t been properly registered will also be impounded right away.

However, there’s some relief for those who only owe this year’s tax. They will be given an official notice and asked to clear their dues quickly. To make it easier, the department is also offering a 10% discount for drivers who pay their token tax for this financial year within the grace period.

This is a clear warning for vehicle owners: keep your tax papers up to date or get ready to lose your ride. Stay alert, pay your dues, and drive worry-free!
