Dubai reveals requirements for granting Golden Visa to exceptional educators

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has announced Golden Visas for exceptional educators who have demonstrated outstanding performance and made significant contributions to Dubai’s private education sector.
The announcement made on World Teachers’ Day underscores the pivotal role educators play in shaping Dubai’s future, aligning with the emirate’s broader ambitions across key sectors. It also aligns with the recently launched Education 33 strategy.
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai has revealed the procedures and requirements for granting the Golden Visa to this category in the emirate.
These include several documents and procedures to determine eligibility.
KHDA pointed out that applying process for obtaining the Golden Visa will open on October 15.
It added that educational institutions can nominate members of their teaching staff who meet the criteria, adding that it is essential to provide supporting documents, including school inspection assessment reports (for school principals only), survey results, letters of recommendation from students and parents, letters of recommendation from teaching staff (for educational institution managers), evidence of community involvement, documents demonstrating improved student outcomes, a letter of recommendation, and a nomination letter from the Board of Trustees.
KHDA clarified that the application reviews are conducted by a dedicated committee that will submit its recommendations to the KHDA to be reviewed. Then, KHDA will coordinate with the relevant government authorities and subsequently, the educators whose applications have been approved will be informed.
KHDA has announced that it has opened the opportunity for “five categories of individuals who have the opportunity to apply for the Golden Visa, including school principals, early childhood centre directors, academic directors in higher education institutions, teachers in schools and early childhood centres, and faculty members and senior administrative leaders who work full-time in higher education institutions.”
