Global Korea Scholarship 2025 Now Open for Applications

The highly esteemed and competitive Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) 2025 is officially open for applications, offering aspiring international students the opportunity to pursue fully-funded master’s and Ph.D. programs in South Korea. Formerly known as the Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP), this initiative is sponsored by the Korean government and is regarded as one of the most prestigious scholarships worldwide.

This year, the Global Korea Scholarship aims to select over 1,820 international students from 155 countries. These students will have the chance to pursue graduate-level degrees or conduct research in South Korea, supported by comprehensive funding that covers tuition fees, living expenses, airfare, and other associated costs. Since 2016, over 104,000 international students have benefited from this scholarship, making it a cornerstone of South Korea’s efforts to promote global educational exchange and academic competitiveness.

Diverse Academic Opportunities

The GKS 2025 program offers a wide range of academic fields for candidates, ensuring that applicants from various disciplines can find programs that align with their career aspirations. Selected students will be placed at renowned universities across South Korea, gaining access to world-class education and research facilities.

Application Process

There are two ways to apply for the Global Korea Scholarship 2025:

  1. Korean Embassy Track: Applicants can submit their documents to the Korean Embassy in their respective countries.
  2. University Track: Alternatively, applications can be submitted directly to domestic universities in South Korea.

Both methods offer candidates the opportunity to secure a place in this prestigious program, making it accessible to a diverse range of students worldwide.

A Global Scholarship of High Prestige

The Global Korea Scholarship stands alongside other renowned international scholarships such as the US Fulbright Scholarship, Chinese Government Scholarship, Australia Awards Scholarships, Turkey Burslari Scholarships, Austria Government Scholarship, and Germany’s DAAD Scholarship. Its reputation as a fully-funded program offering unparalleled academic and cultural opportunities makes it a highly sought-after award among students globally.

Strengthening Global Ties

Sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Education, the scholarship reflects South Korea’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and academic excellence. By attracting talented students from around the world, the program not only enhances the diversity of South Korea’s academic institutions but also strengthens the country’s position as a hub for global education.
