The International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations (IFATCA) has commended Pakistan’s air traffic controllers for their exceptional professionalism and performance during recent disruptions in regional airspace.
According to the organisation, Pakistan’s aviation system experienced a significant surge in air traffic as a result of the ongoing US–Iran conflict, which forced numerous international airlines to divert their routes through Pakistani airspace. This sudden increase placed considerable operational pressure on the country’s key flight information regions and control centres.
Despite the heavy workload and challenging conditions, Pakistan’s air traffic controllers successfully managed a large volume of non-scheduled and rerouted flights while ensuring that safety standards remained fully intact. Their ability to maintain order and efficiency under such demanding circumstances was highlighted as a notable achievement in global aviation operations.
IFATCA also acknowledged the crucial support provided by Pakistan’s aviation authorities, noting that effective coordination and preparedness played an important role in handling the situation smoothly. The organisation described the overall performance as a clear reflection of the dedication, resilience, and high level of competence demonstrated by Pakistan’s aviation professionals during a period of heightened regional instability and global air traffic disruption.
