Punjab’s schools had already started summer vacations on May 28, a few days earlier than the planned June 1 date, due to a record-breaking heatwave. The early closure and the current extension aim to ensure the health and safety of students, teachers, and school staff.
The Education Department is working to update school schedules and will issue further guidance closer to the reopening date.
