The federal government has launched a major plan to transform Pakistan’s transport corridors into active economic zones. This initiative, announced during a meeting led by Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, aims to boost industrial growth while creating opportunities in tourism, agriculture, and regional trade.

A key part of this strategy is the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Discussions with federal and provincial officials, urban planners, and private sector experts focused on combining industrial and tourism activities along key routes.

The goal of the plan is to ensure fair infrastructure development across all provinces. Economic hubs will be set up in Islamabad and Dera Ismail Khan, focusing on sectors such as pharmaceuticals and renewable energy. This strategy is expected to support sustainable economic growth and improve Pakistan’s ability to compete in global markets.
