Hadiqa Kiani and Maharang Baloch have been honored on the BBC’s ‘100 Women for 2024’ list, which celebrates influential women from around the world.

Hadiqa Kiani, a well-known singer and songwriter, is recognized not only for her music but also for her humanitarian work. She leads the Vaseela-e-Raah project, which provides support to flood victims in Balochistan and South Punjab. Her efforts have made a significant impact on the lives of those affected by natural disasters in Pakistan.

Maharang Baloch, a medical doctor and activist, is also celebrated for her remarkable contributions. In 2023, she led a 1,600-kilometer march to raise awareness about human rights issues in Pakistan. Her dedication to advocating for justice and equality earned her a spot on the prestigious TIME100 Next 2024 list, recognizing rising leaders who are shaping the future.

Both women now join a distinguished group of global leaders and changemakers, including astronaut Sunita Williams and Nobel laureate Nadia Murad. Their inclusion highlights their commitment to creating positive change in their communities and beyond.

The achievements of Kiani and Baloch serve as a source of inspiration, showcasing the strength and resilience of Pakistani women on the global stage. These recognitions underline the importance of their work and its impact, proving that their voices are making a difference not only in Pakistan but across the world.
