Internet Slowdown Expected for a Full Week in Pakistan Starting Tomorrow

Internet users across Pakistan may face slower or inconsistent internet connectivity for up to a week beginning April 14, 2026, as scheduled maintenance work is carried out on an international submarine cable system.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has reported that a global undersea cable consortium will undertake repair and maintenance operations from April 14 to April 20. During this period, users may experience temporary disruptions, including reduced speeds, higher latency, or intermittent connectivity issues. The impact is expected to be more noticeable during peak usage hours, particularly in the evening when internet traffic is at its highest.

Authorities have advised users that these disruptions are part of routine maintenance to ensure the long-term stability and efficiency of international internet links.
