Islamabad Introduces Good Citizen Stickers for Drivers

Islamabad Traffic Police has introduced a new Good Citizen Campaign to encourage safe driving and better compliance with traffic rules across the federal capital.

This campaign aims to make people more responsible on the road by rewarding those who follow the law instead of only focusing on punishments and fines.

As part of this initiative, City Traffic Police officers will observe drivers on different roads of Islamabad. If a motorist is seen following traffic rules carefully, they will be given a Good Citizen sticker.

These rules include wearing a seat belt, using a helmet on motorcycles, stopping at red signals, avoiding mobile phone use while driving, and staying within the speed limit. The sticker will then be placed on the driver’s vehicle as a visible recognition of safe behaviour. It will also help identify drivers who maintain a clean record.

The stickers come with QR codes that make it easier for authorities to check the history of a driver. If the driver continues to follow traffic rules, that information will remain on record, helping the police reward them again in the future.

This campaign also offers special incentives to responsible drivers. Those who receive the Good Citizen sticker will get priority services at traffic police facilitation centres.

They will be able to use specially designated counters, reducing waiting time and allowing them to complete their tasks or requests much faster than others.

The goal of the campaign is to build a safer traffic culture in Islamabad, reduce road accidents, and inspire more people to follow the rules. By promoting positive behaviour, the police hope drivers will feel proud to obey traffic laws and contribute to a safer city for everyone.
