Isr@el Wants to Start Peace Talks with Lebanon Soon after Pakistan’s Diplomacy for Global Peace

Benjamin Netanyahu has indicated that Israel is prepared to initiate peace talks with Lebanon “as soon as possible,” with a primary focus on disarming Hezbollah and working toward more stable bilateral relations. The announcement comes at a time when regional tensions remain elevated due to ongoing Israeli military operations, which have further complicated the already fragile security situation along the border.

On the Lebanese side, Joseph Aoun stressed that an immediate ceasefire remains the only realistic pathway to de-escalation. He emphasized that halting hostilities should be the first step, followed by structured and direct negotiations aimed at achieving long-term peace and stability. Lebanon continues to face severe humanitarian challenges, with rising casualties, widespread destruction, and large-scale displacement affecting thousands of civilians.

In parallel, Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned Israel’s continued military actions during a recent conversation with Nawaf Salam. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting diplomatic solutions and reiterated the country’s active role in promoting peace in the region. Sharif also highlighted the importance of ongoing and upcoming diplomatic engagements, including the anticipated talks between the United States and Iran scheduled to take place in Islamabad, which are being viewed as a critical opportunity to ease broader regional tensions.

This evolving situation underscores the urgency of coordinated international efforts to prevent further escalation and to create conditions conducive to meaningful dialogue and sustainable peace.
