The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, led by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, has approved a special Ramazan Support Package to help deserving families across the province. Under this program, more than one million families will receive Rs. 12,500 each through digital payment systems.
The government said the package will give priority to widows, orphans, persons with disabilities, and people affected by natural disasters. The aim is to provide financial relief during the holy month of Ramazan and support vulnerable communities.
In addition to this package, the cabinet approved Rs 496 million in grants for the families of martyrs. Financial assistance will also be provided to patients suffering from complex and serious diseases to help cover their treatment expenses.
The cabinet also discussed and approved several important policy decisions. These include a Women Empowerment Policy for 2026–2030 to improve opportunities and protection for women.
Plans were approved to upgrade information technology systems in the education sector to modernize schools and improve learning facilities.
Other key decisions included measures related to wheat procurement, sugar deregulation, and support for energy projects to strengthen the province’s economy. The cabinet also approved grants for sports development, initiatives to protect minority rights, and funding for various infrastructure projects.
Officials said these steps reflect the government’s commitment to social welfare, economic stability, and long-term development across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
