Khan was last seen in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and recently produced his ex-wife Kiran Rao’s film ‘Laapataa Ladies’.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is reportedly in discussions to headline a major project helmed by acclaimed Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

According to Indian media reports, the “3 Idiots” actor is eager to team up with Kanagaraj for a pan-India film, marking his return to the big screen two years after “Laal Singh Chaddha” in 2022.

The news first broke on Telugu portal Aakashavaani’s official X account, which shared, “BIG BREAKING – A Mindblowing Combo!! #AamirKhan, #LokeshKanagaraj, and #MythriMovies are teaming up for a PAN India film soon”.

“According to our very reliable sources, the project is CONFIRMED,” the X post read.

The portal also reported that talks between Aamir Khan, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Mythri Movies are in advanced stages, with the collaboration set to materialise soon.

Aamir Khan, who was last seen in “Laal Singh Chaddha,” recently produced his ex-wife Kiran Rao’s film “Laapataa Ladies.” Additionally, the highly anticipated sequel to “Sitaare Zameen Par,” co-starring Genelia D’Souza, wrapped filming last month and is scheduled for a Christmas release this year.

Earlier this year, Aamir surprised fans with the announcement of a sequel to his 1999 hit film “Sarfarosh.”

Speaking at a special screening to celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary, Khan expressed his commitment to creating a worthy sequel, urging director John Matthew Matthan to begin work on the script.

As for Lokesh Kanagaraj, his latest directorial venture was “Leo,” starring Vijay, which released in 2023. He is currently filming his upcoming project “Coolie” and is known for directing hits like “Maanagaram,” “Kaithi,” and “Vikram.”
