Pakistan has recently introduced Sufra, a locally developed anti-drone jamming device designed to counter cross-border “kamikaze” drones. This new system reflects Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its defense technology and rely more on local expertise.
Sufra was created by specialists at the National Electronics Complex, which is known for making advanced electronic and security systems. The device was officially presented at the Karachi Maritime Expo, where it received attention for its strong capabilities and successful live demonstration.
During the event, Sufra showed that it can jam and block the signals of an incoming drone from a distance of up to 1.5 kilometers.
This makes it useful for stopping potential threats before they enter sensitive or restricted areas. The device also has a 30-degree adjustable angle, which helps operators target moving drones more easily and respond quickly to unexpected situations.
Instead of destroying drones physically, Sufra works by interrupting their communication signals. When this happens, the drone may lose control, land on its own, or become unable to continue its mission. This method reduces the risk of falling debris in populated or protected areas and provides a safer way to neutralize threats.
The introduction of Sufra is an important milestone for Pakistan, especially at a time when drone-related security concerns are growing worldwide. It shows the country’s commitment to building its own modern defense tools and improving border protection.
