Man jailed for abusing and possessing heroin in Dubai

Dubai Criminal Court jailed an Asian for 3 months on charges of drug abuse and possession of 98 grams of heroin for consumption.
The court also ordered his deportation after serving his sentence and confiscated the seized materials.
The details of the case date back to January 2023, when information from a reliable source was received by the General Department of Anti Narcotics Department alerting that the suspect was abusing narcotic and psychotropic substances and possessing an amount of them in Satwa area in Dubai.
A policeman reported during interrogations that he, with members of the General Department of Anti Narcotics, raided the suspect’s residence in Satwa area, where suspect was arrested and 3 wraps of heroin were found.
The report of the General Department of Criminal Evidence and Criminology proved that by examining the seized items, it was found that they contained 6 tin wrappers containing 89 grammes of heroin and various narcotic substances.
The result of examining the suspect’s sample also showed that it contained narcotic substances.
The suspect confessed during interrogations that he possessed heroin and narcotic substances with the intention of abusing them, and that he obtained them from a compatriot whom he knew via WhatsApp.
The suspect got coordinates of the location of the drugs to receive through WhatsApp and paid for it through a bank account.
