Massive Traffic Crackdown in Punjab! Violaters Find Over 3.38 Crore in just One Day

Punjab authorities carried out a large-scale traffic crackdown, collecting more than Rs 3.38 crore in fines within just 24 hours. The operation aimed to improve road safety and enforce traffic laws strictly across the province.

During the crackdown, over 40,000 challans were issued to violators, while 344 FIRs were registered for serious offences. Authorities also impounded more than 6,700 vehicles that were found breaking traffic rules.

Among the offenders, over 6,000 motorists were fined for driving without valid licences. Around 5,000 motorcyclists faced penalties for riding without helmets, a key safety violation.

Additionally, 1,870 drivers were penalized for one-way violations, and 630 vehicles were fined for overloading, which can pose serious risks on busy roads.

Officials said that the strict enforcement is part of ongoing efforts to reduce accidents and improve overall traffic discipline in Punjab. They warned motorists to follow traffic rules and carry valid licences, helmets, and proper documentation to avoid fines or legal action.

This crackdown highlights the provincial government’s commitment to road safety and responsible driving.

Authorities have urged drivers to remain cautious, follow traffic regulations, and cooperate with law enforcement to prevent accidents and ensure safer travel for everyone.

The operation will continue in different areas to maintain discipline and reduce violations, sending a clear message that traffic laws will be strictly enforced across Punjab.
