Iran has issued a strong warning after the United States imposed a naval blockade targeting its ports, stating that “no port in the Gulf or the Sea of Oman will be safe” if Iranian maritime interests are threatened. Iranian officials described the move as illegal and a form of maritime aggression, arguing that such actions violate international norms and undermine freedom of navigation. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps further warned that Iran would respond firmly to any attempt to restrict its shipping routes, especially in strategic waters near the Strait of Hormuz.
The escalation comes amid rising tensions between Tehran and Washington, with both sides exchanging threats over control and security of key shipping lanes. Iran has indicated that it may take retaliatory measures if pressure continues, raising concerns over the stability of global energy supplies. Analysts warn that any further confrontation in the region could disrupt oil transport through one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints, potentially impacting international markets and regional security.
