The United States has announced a relief package for Pakistan to help communities hit hard by the recent devastating floods. This marks the first major international aid move for Pakistan under the Trump administration.

Although the State Department has not revealed the exact amount of the assistance, officials confirmed that the support will cover food, shelter, and emergency supplies.

These will be delivered in coordination with Pakistani authorities and humanitarian groups working on the ground to ensure timely help reaches those most in need.

As part of the effort, US Central Command has already sent shipments, with the first consignments arriving at Nur Khan Air Base, where they were officially handed over to Pakistani officials. More deliveries are expected in the coming days as relief operations continue.

In a statement, Washington said it “stands with the people of Pakistan,” reaffirming its commitment to saving lives and providing urgent humanitarian support. The aid is also seen as a sign of broader cooperation between the two countries during a time of national crisis.

The floods have caused widespread destruction, leaving thousands homeless and damaging infrastructure, farmlands, and livelihoods across multiple regions. Health experts have also warned about the risk of disease outbreaks in submerged areas.

With this new relief initiative, Pakistan is receiving much-needed international backing to speed up recovery efforts.

Officials stressed that while this package is an important step, continued global support will be essential for long-term rebuilding and rehabilitation. The announcement has been welcomed as a gesture of solidarity at a time when Pakistan is struggling with one of its worst natural disasters in years.
