Burgers are famous worldwide for their variety of flavors and textures, and now a unique twist is coming to China with the introduction of donkey meat from Pakistan.
This development is important for agricultural trade, as a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two countries will facilitate the export of donkey meat and hides to China. The agreement, established between Pakistan’s Ministry of National Food Security and Research and China’s General Administration of Customs, outlines the quarantine requirements necessary for these exports.
The Hangeng Group and other companies are expected to participate in the donkey meat trade, with plans to establish a slaughterhouse in the Gwadar Free Zone, which will have the capacity to process over 200,000 donkeys. With around 6 million donkeys in Pakistan, the country is well-positioned to meet the growing demand, as China has become a significant market for both donkey meat and hides.
This innovative approach not only diversifies the food offerings in China but also opens up new economic opportunities for Pakistan, highlighting the potential for agricultural collaboration between the two nations.
