Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced Pakistan’s first government-run autism school in Lahore. The goal is to support children with autism while easing the financial burden on their parents.

The school will provide free treatment and special care for children with autism. CM Maryam has promised to complete the project within a year, ensuring that families get the help they need as soon as possible.

In addition to the autism school, the government is working to improve special education across the province. Ten autism units will be set up in different institutions to offer more specialized support.

Furthermore, 28 existing special education schools will be upgraded into centers of excellence. This will enhance the quality of education and resources available to children with special needs.

To help differently-abled students find job opportunities, the government is also planning to organize a special job fair. This initiative aims to empower these students by providing them with employment opportunities and financial independence.

These steps reflect the Punjab government’s commitment to improving the lives of children with special needs and ensuring they receive proper education, care, and future opportunities.
