“Pitch Invasion Incident will Not Be Repeated”, PCB

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken notice of a security breach that happened during the ICC Champions Trophy match between New Zealand and Bangladesh on February 24, 2025.

During the game, a fan ran onto the field and tried to hug New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra. The PCB strongly condemned the incident, stating that the safety of players and officials is their top priority.

To prevent such incidents in the future, security at all cricket venues will be increased. The person who entered the field was immediately arrested and has been banned from all cricket stadiums in Pakistan.

The PCB assured that strict security measures will be in place for the remaining matches of the tournament to ensure the safety of everyone involved. The board also urged fans to respect the rules and enjoy the game responsibly.

This incident has raised concerns about security at major sporting events, and authorities are now focusing on strengthening arrangements to avoid any similar situations in the future.
