PMD Forecasts Rain, Thunderstorms and Hail Across Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted widespread rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across the country from April 1 to April 4. These weather conditions are expected due to a westerly weather system moving through the region.

Heavy rainfall, along with the possibility of hail, is likely in the provinces of Balochistan, Punjab, and Sindh. In the mountainous areas, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir, snowfall is expected. Residents in these regions should be prepared for cold and wet weather conditions.

The PMD has also warned about potential flash floods, landslides, and damage to weak or vulnerable structures. These risks are particularly high in hilly and low-lying areas, where heavy rain can quickly cause dangerous situations.

Authorities have urged both residents and tourists to remain alert and take necessary precautions. They have advised people to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain and strong wind conditions. Staying indoors, securing loose objects, and keeping emergency supplies ready can help reduce risks.

Major cities that may experience significant rainfall and storms include Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta, Skardu, and Muzaffarabad. The PMD recommends that local authorities, emergency services, and communities remain vigilant and ready to respond to any sudden weather-related emergencies.

Citizens are encouraged to follow updates from the PMD and local authorities, and to take extra care during the predicted stormy days. Planning ahead, staying informed, and prioritizing safety can help minimize the impact of these severe weather conditions across Pakistan.
