Punjab Govt Launched Dedicated Lanes for Cyclists & Motorcyclists in Lahore to Reduce Accidents

The Punjab government has taken an important step toward improving traffic management by introducing special lanes for motorcyclists and cyclists in Lahore. This initiative is designed to enhance road safety and make traffic flow more organized.

Led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the first phase of the project focuses on Ferozepur Road. A 10-kilometer stretch, starting from Canal Road to Lahore Bridge, is being developed with a dedicated “Biker Lane.” These lanes are painted in bright green to make them easily visible and encourage proper lane usage.

The project follows international traffic standards and aims to reduce road accidents and ease traffic congestion in the city. By providing a separate lane for two-wheelers, the government hopes to create a safer environment for riders and improve the overall commuting experience.

Citizens have expressed optimism about this initiative, believing it will bring positive changes to road safety and traffic management. They hope it will encourage responsible riding habits and reduce the risks for motorcyclists and cyclists who often face challenges on busy roads.

This development is part of broader efforts to modernize Lahore’s infrastructure and make it a more cyclist- and motorcyclist-friendly city. With its focus on safety and organization, the dedicated lane project is expected to benefit both riders and other road users, creating smoother and safer journeys for everyone.
