Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a Rs. 100 billion flood relief program to support people affected by recent floods, saying that Punjab handled the crisis without seeking foreign aid or outside help.

Speaking at a ceremony in Okara, she said her government stood with the people of Punjab during a difficult time and made sure that assistance reached those who truly needed it.

She added that the government protected the self-respect of flood-affected families and ensured complete transparency in the distribution of funds.

Under the new relief program, families who lost their loved ones or homes will receive Rs. 1 million in financial support, while those whose houses were partially damaged will be given Rs. 500,000.

Maryam Nawaz said the government’s top priority is to help people rebuild their homes and restore their livelihoods as quickly as possible.

She also shared that 70 percent of the damage survey has been completed and cheque distribution has already begun in 15 districts of Punjab.

The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of district administrations and volunteers who have been working day and night to provide relief to the victims.

Maryam Nawaz said that this program reflects the provincial government’s commitment to serving the people with honesty and compassion. She assured that Punjab will continue to support flood-hit families until normal life is fully restored across all affected areas.

This initiative is among the largest relief programs in Punjab’s history, aimed at rebuilding lives and restoring hope for thousands of families.
