Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti paid a visit to the Reko Diq mining site on Saturday, underlining the project’s significant role in boosting foreign investment and driving development in the province. During his visit, he referred to Reko Diq as a “milestone” for not just Balochistan but for the entire country.

The Chief Minister highlighted the potential of the mining project to generate substantial revenue that will primarily benefit the Chagai and Rakhshan divisions. He stressed that the provincial government is committed to ensuring local communities gain maximum benefits from the project.

Bugti also reaffirmed the government’s dedication to enhancing essential services such as healthcare, education, and skill development for the people living in these regions. He appreciated the efforts of the Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) for its active role in social development initiatives aimed at uplifting the local population.

Mark Bristow, the CEO of Barrick Gold Corporation, described the Reko Diq project as a transformative development for Balochistan’s mining industry. He also pledged to continue the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, focusing on education, healthcare, and skills training to support local communities.

The visit and discussions underscore the collaborative efforts between the government and private sector to ensure sustainable development in the region, positioning Reko Diq as a landmark project for Pakistan’s economic growth.
