Sindh Govt to Set up Solar Parks in Karachi

In a recent meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Sindh’s provincial cabinet made several important decisions. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that the cabinet has approved plans for two new solar parks: a large 500MW park in Manjhand district, Jamshoro, and a 120MW park in the central district.

The cabinet also gave the green light for the creation of the Sindh Electric Power Regulatory Authority (SEPRA). Sharjeel emphasized the critical role Sindh will play in tackling the current energy crisis. He highlighted President Asif Ali Zardari’s commitment to alleviating the energy challenges faced by the people.

President Zardari underscored the importance of affordable electricity and the potential of Thar coal to address the energy shortfall. He pointed out that using Thar coal for electricity generation could not only meet Pakistan’s energy demands but also position the country to export electricity.
