Sarah Gillis, a SpaceX Polaris Dawn astronaut and talented violinist, has made history by releasing a special music video from space.

On September 13, 2024, Gillis shared her performance of “Rey’s Theme” from Star Wars: The Force Awakens while floating in zero gravity inside the Crew Dragon spacecraft. The video, called “Harmony of Resilience,” shows Gillis playing the violin while drifting weightlessly in space, creating a beautiful and unique performance.

The video also includes clips of orchestras playing on Earth, connecting music across different places and showing the power of teamwork and hope.

This inspiring release aims to bring people together and promote unity around the world. Additionally, it supports two important causes: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which helps children with serious diseases, and El Sistema USA, which focuses on music education for kids.

Through this performance, Gillis hopes to inspire hope and resilience in people everywhere, while also raising awareness for these two organizations and the work they do.
