Tiktok Teams Up with National Disaster Management Authority to Share Only Verified Flood Alerts

To help stop the spread of false information during the monsoon season, TikTok has teamed up with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in Pakistan. Together, they have launched a special search guide to make sure people get real and trusted flood updates.

Now, when TikTok users search for news about floods, they will see a clear banner that takes them to verified information and TikTok’s own Safety Center inside the app. This new feature will help people find correct updates faster and avoid rumors that could cause panic.

Along with this, TikTok has added a link to its “Tragic Event Support” guide. This guide gives advice on mental health, safety measures, and tips for people who may be affected by floods or other disasters.

TikTok says this step shows its promise to keep the community safe online. The platform wants to encourage people to share only responsible and true information, especially during times of emergency when false news can spread quickly.

The NDMA hopes that this effort will help people prepare better during heavy rains and floods by pointing them toward official advice and rescue updates.

Both TikTok and NDMA believe that technology and social media can play a positive role in crisis management if used wisely.

This new search guide is part of TikTok’s bigger plan to fight misinformation worldwide. By making verified content easy to find, the platform aims to protect its users and support communities during tough times like floods or other natural disasters.
