Two Emirati children, 8 and 7, died due to a fire which broke out in their family house in Al Tawaiyen area in the Emirate of Fujairah on Tuesday morning.
Major General Mohammed Ahmed Bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, stated that specialised teams from the police and the Civil Defence Department rushed to the scene of the fire at 2am upon receiving the report, and the firefighters controlled the flames and saved a third child, 5, who was seriously injured.
Patrols and civil defence teams from Al Tawaiyen Centre quickly dealt with the fire, secured the house, treated the injured, and transported them to Dibba Al Fujairah Hospital.
Major General Al Kaabi affirmed that the police instantly started their investigations, which are still ongoing, to find out the circumstances of the fire. He expressed his deep condolences on the death of the two children wished the injured family members a speedy recovery.
Brigadier Ali Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director of the Fujairah Civil Defence Department, renewed his appeal to the public to commit to the instructions and requirements of prevention, safety and civil protection.
