UAE fines 19 Hajj and Umrah operators, suspends four others for violations

The General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE) has announced that 19 Hajj and Umrah operators have been subject to fines. Furthermore, the Licensing Committee has suspended the permits of four Hajj campaigns, due to their failure to abide by the relevant legislation, regulations and instructions.
These decisions are made in line with the GAIAE’s commitment to enhancing Hajj services and ensuring high-end service for UAE pilgrims. This is in alignment with the UAE government’s strategy and the directives of prudent leadership.
This came after the Licensing Committee at the Authority had addressed all pilgrims’ concerns related to the previous Hajj season (1445 AH/2024) and has taken the necessary measures in accordance with the relevant laws and decisions.
The Authority further stressed that campaigners must adhere to the commitments made with pilgrims as set forth in the contracts pertaining to the quality of the services provided, and to refrain from any violations thereof.
“Negligence towards pilgrims is contrary to the values and approach of our country, which is committed to the well-being of pilgrims and to the honour of serving them,” GAIAE added.
The Authority has expressed its intention to consider the challenges and difficulties encountered in the development of Hajj services, which are seeing a qualitative transformation in line with changes in life. In this regard, the Authority has called upon campaigners to innovate in the quality of their services with a view to attracting pilgrims and encouraging them to join them.
