They can set daily time limits starting from zero minutes up to two hours, depending on what they feel is appropriate. Parents can also add bedtime reminders and break alerts to encourage healthier screen habits and reduce excessive use.
YouTube is also making it easier to set up supervised accounts, so parents can start managing their child’s viewing experience more quickly. Controls on shared devices, such as family tablets or smart TVs, are being improved to make sure supervision remains effective even when multiple people use the same device.
In addition, YouTube says it will focus more on showing teens positive, educational, and wellbeing-related content. This move aims to reduce exposure to harmful or overly addictive videos and support healthier online experiences for young users.
