PSL Confirms Expansion to Eight Teams and Six Venues for Season 11

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is preparing for one of its biggest changes yet, as CEO Salman Naseer has announced plans to auction two new franchises before the start of PSL 11.

This expansion will increase the total number of teams from six to eight, marking an important milestone in the tournament’s history.

The decision comes as part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s strategy to make the league more competitive and bring top-quality cricket to a wider audience.

By adding two more teams, PSL aims to give more players both local and international—a chance to showcase their talent on one of the biggest T20 platforms in the world.

In addition to the expansion, two new venues are being added to the PSL schedule: Peshawar’s Imran Khan Stadium and Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium. These stadiums will now join the existing host cities of Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan.

The inclusion of new venues is expected to boost fan participation and strengthen the league’s connection with cricket enthusiasts across different regions of Pakistan.

According to PSL management, the new franchises and venues will not only expand the league’s reach but also contribute to the development of sports infrastructure and local economies.

Fans and analysts have welcomed the move, saying that the addition of new teams will bring more excitement, rivalries, and opportunities for emerging players. The upcoming auction is expected to attract strong interest from investors, as PSL continues to grow in popularity both at home and abroad.
